Disneyland Duathlon

July 11, 2009

Laura, Rachel and I participated in the Disneyland Duathlon in June. A duathlon is a run-bike-run, so we started on main street of Disneyland, ran around the park and out to the parking lot across the street, got on our bikes and road around the two parks twice, then ran through California Adventures.
Lots of fun, [...]

I’m trying out the wordpress iPhone app and so far I’m impressed. I can easily make a blog post and also see my recent posts and even check comments. Pretty cool.
And in case you didn’t know this, you can just double tap the space bar on your iPhone while typing and it will put [...]

Josie Off To Camp

July 9, 2009

Josie set sail for camp on Monday. She’s off to Catalina, where she gets to sleep in a cabin on the beach, snorkel, and sail. They also have wake-boarding, archery, nature, crafts, and garden activities. We’re going to go visit her on Sunday, so we’ll have photos from the visit.

Ah, iPhone, how do I love thee, let me count the ways…

July 4, 2009

Ted and I each got iPhones last month (I know, I know, just before the new ones came out, but our other phones’ contracts were up, and even so, we were charged an extra $70 or so because we didn’t switch over right).
We love them. I actually enjoy speaking on the phone with people and [...]

My Boy Bin

Bin

Yes, I’m an altaholic and I try not to love any of my toons more than the others, but Bin has found a special place in my heart. I’ve been playing him for awhile. He’s a tauren druid, but he didn’t really click for me until I changed his name to Binturong (from Prewitt) and [...]

Be Different

April 16, 2009

I’ve been listening to a few different marketing podcasts lately and one of the recurring themes is that you need to be different (this is aimed at small businesses). There are lots of people out there who offer the same services or products that you do (welcome to the World Wide Web) so you need [...]

CSS Image Replacement

April 8, 2009

I’ve been playing around quite a bit lately with image replacement, which means that I put text on the web page and then use CSS to replace that text with an image. So, when someone is looking at the page with a browser, they see the nice graphic. If google looks at the page, it [...]

Finder Oddities

January 23, 2009

I had a tough one yesterday. A client of mine told me that when he was in the Finder, clicking down through his folder hierarchy, it would suddenly jump him back up to the top level of his drive. It did the same thing if he changed the sorting in the view pane. [...]

Map That Site!

January 23, 2009

Maybe it’s because I live in a small house and have been on a simplify and unclutter kick for the past year and still going strong (great blog – unclutterer), but it makes sense to me that you your website needs to be organized and uncluttered.
And how do you design an organized/uncluttered website?
You map it [...]
