Naomi Beard and Associates is a firm that provides coaching and consulting services to lawyers and law firms. The site is informational and includes a client only section where they can download resources and a forum for clients.

Since the site needed to stay up to date, we chose a WordPress installation and used the Thesis theme with some modifications.

The Celiac Disease Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to increase awareness about the disease. The site is both informational and a way for users to find out what CDF has been doing with the money that is donated to them.

Most visitors are looking for information on Celiac Disease and the first button in the navigation leads to that information. The home page includes upcoming events and news items that are updated weekly. Past event and news information is archived on the site so that people searching for that information will find their way to Celiac.org.

New Joomla Site

Celiac Disease Foundation redesigned their site and created it on Joomla. I didn’t participate in the redesign and coding of the Joomla site, but I maintain it for them now. I also re-coded the AJAX shopping cart for donations, memberships and conference registration to use their Cybersource payment gateway.

I also added Mal’s E-Commerce shopping cart so they would have a shopping cart that persisted across the site.

I inherited the basic look of the static site, then updated it to make it easier to change and more search engine friendly.

Online Donations

The online donations section of the celiac.org site lets visitors quickly donate to CDF. The pages are coded in php and they interact with Cybersource (working with Bank of America) on a secure server. The forms gather all the information required by CDF for their different kinds of donations like tribute donations and gift donations.

I also code the forms for the CDF Annual Conference each year to allow online registration.

Gradillas Court Reporters is a court reporter company in Beverly Hills. The site is informational and needed to convey the sophistication of the firm.

As many lawyers aren’t Internet savvy, we kept the site simple. We also made sure the text was easy to read.

Bouve.com is an ecommerce site selling head scarves.

It includes information on the product and an Interspire shopping cart.

A small site for a professor at Cal State University, Long Beach. She wanted both a portfolio to show off her metal works and a page or two to show off the metal studio at CSULB.

I coded the selected works page to dynamically put the thumbnails of the different works on the page, so when a new work is added, we don’t have to do any coding on that page.

The navigation bar at the top, with ‘hanging’ sub-nav, was a challenge. I almost resorted to making it out of graphics, but figured out a way to use the code for css drop down menus, so it’s all text, html, and css.

The TriDivas are a triathlon training group for women. The group started in Southern California, but through use of the web site is expanding across the United States. Offerings on the web site include information on training workshops, online coaching, upcoming camps and clinics and how to purchase TriDivas logo race and active wear.

The site was designed to be expandable, so that it can immediately reflect any changes in the TriDivas programs and offerings. We also employ several different technologies in our offerings, including password protected online schedules for the workshops, online training logs from workoutlog.com for the online coaching, paypal payment for the store items, and registration through active.com for the workshops, camps, and clinics.

Lounge

To expand the TriDivas.com site into a more interactive site, we added the Lounge. This area allowed quick updating by the owner of the site and a members only area for paid subscribers. There’s also an integrated calendar. All the new information automatically shows up on the home page, making it very easy to keep updated.

The site is powered by geeklog. The graphic design is from the basic geeklog layout that I changed to look more like the tridivas.com site.

A small site to provide information about what Mrs. Music is doing and allow her to post mp3′s of some of her songs so that people can download and listen to them.

The design is elegant and easy to read with pictures and pull-out text to spice up the pages.

Take It To Another Level is a self-help site offering information and recommendations on subjects like body cleansing, nutrition, fitness and more. We wanted to make the information accessible in multiple ways, which led to coding the site with php includes so that the information is only entered in once, but it appears in the site in two places: on its topic page and on the appropriate listings page.

As the site grows, we’re planning to add more interactivity, like user log in and user reviews of products.

The Upland Sports Arena is the premiere indoor soccer arena in Southern California. They have an account with a company to handle all their league organization online, so we wanted to make sure that visitors would use that service. We made the login to that service available on every page.

To keep the information up to date without constantly updating the site, we made much of the info available in pdf’s, which can be changed easily and either viewed or downloaded by the visitor. The graphic design emphasized movement and bright colors to match the dynamic nature of soccer.

Western Resources Title just changed their name and wanted to present a new image as the resource for real estate and title agents. The site is both good looking and designed to bring the visitor back again and again for the info they use everday.

The site also ties in to the all the new business materials created for the name change.
